I found it in some rarefied Reddit thread (buried later than 7 remarks deep under an ad for crypto). Its not upon the App Store, but their site walks you through a workaround. Sketchy? A little. But it works.
Pros:

No watermarks.

Saves in HD. Legit 1080p+.

Audio stays in sync (youd be surprised how scarce that is).

Cons:

Annoying setup.

Sometimes fails silently, in the same way as it acts taking into consideration it saved but nada.

Interface looks in imitation of Windows XP met a MySpace theme.

Still... its my go-to. I even have a shortcut widget.

Why doesnt Instagram just let us pull off this? I mean, TikTok lets you keep subsequent to audio (sorta), but IG acts once Reels are nuclear instigation codes. Wild.

Side Rant: Watermarks

Its not. I tested it for two weeks. Didnt miss a single Reel. Even the ones I forgot I watched.

Real Talk: Should You Even Be be in This?
Ugh. Im torn. upon one hand, I get it. We desire to keep that reel. con it to friends. Watch offline. most likely meme it later.
But creators deserve credit. suitably here's my rule: I and no-one else download Reels if Im using them personally. Never reposting. Never monetizing. Just hoarding, tbh.
Also, if a Reel has 10K+ likes, itll probably stir forever. But that little bay one later than 34 likes? Might disappear bordering week. suitably yeah. Sometimes you gotta save.

One More Hack: Use IGReelTXT
Weird trick I found. You glue the Reel URL into IGReelTXT, and it spits out a .txt file following the audio link, thumbnail URL, and a hidden MP4 file link. Its subsequent to IGs debug data or something.
Totally nerdy. But it works.
Kinda with peeling support the internet curtain and axiom aha!.
