Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment provides an increase in the linearity of any stat.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be achieved through a number of means such as using upgrade components and increasing an item upgrader's mark level or rarity. Additionally there are many items that can be reforged to boost their stats even more.

Upgradeable items can be found throughout the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main method to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can slot into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots for upgrading, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.

Most upgrade components slotted into items are not able to be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, with the exception of legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece gear by using the upgrade Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

If you want to remove the glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.

Adding a glyph to an item could cause it to become unstable and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory when you remove the item. The reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive, and it would be more equitable to let players pay for it using money or a food item that allows them to change their build without wasting time and energy. However, paid rerolls are not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. Instead, they plan to include an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are a number of ways to increase the level of an upgrade to an item. The first way to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the value of upgrading any stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which increases the damage or healing of the stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The upgraded item will keep its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
